Here's the scenario: 1. Remote connect to main machine that has Ultramon running with 2 monitors and 2 separate wallpapers. 2. Get back to office and Unlock main machine for use. 3. Desktop wallpapers are now gone (not displayed).
Bug? Keith

I haven't been able to reproduce this, works fine for me with UltraMon 2.4 and XP SP1.
Please note that UltraMon will refresh the wallpaper when you connect remotely, and again when you log in locally. If your wallpaper uses images from a network share, the share needs to be available when UltraMon refreshes the wallpaper.
Some other things you can check:
- is your UltraMon wallpaper still selected as the active wallpaper if you open the UltraMon wallpaper manager (UltraMon menu > Wallpaper)?
- go to My Documents\My Wallpapers, and take a look at the bitmap (.bmp) file for your wallpaper, for example Default.bmp. Does it still show the original wallpaper, or is it just blank?

I do not have the problem with the background image disappearing, what I do have problems with is my icon positions when I log back in to the local machine. It seems to save the icon locations from the remote session automatically. I would like to be able to come home, sit down and hit restore icon positions and have them put back but it does not work. Is there something I am doing wrong or is that just the way it works? Another quirk with the remote destkop is that it resizes my task bars and doubles them both up (the ultramon task bar above the main windows) on the primary monitor. Any suggestions for these issues?
Thanks, Kuz

By default, UltraMon will save icon positions if it gets shut down, this will happen if you close the remote session by logging off.
To prevent this, you can disable automatic icon positioning under UltraMon Options > General, 'preserve position of desktop icons'. You can still manually save/restore the position of the desktop icons, for example via UltraMon menu > Desktop Icons.
Regarding the taskbar issue: this will happen if the Windows taskbar isn't on the primary monitor. Moving the UltraMon taskbar to the secondary monitor and the Windows taskbar to the primary will fix this problem.
