I got two suggestions for the next version of UltraMon that are not necessary at all but was just wondering:

1. What if UltraMon was based on plug-ins, would it cut down on the memory usage? Also I do not use all of the features of UltraMon such as mirroring and display profiles so if plug-ins were used I could turn them off or just never download them.

2. This is an eyecandy suggestion but could UltraMon add transparency effects to both taskbars? I think that would be really cool. If this is feasible, Tclock2 does this and the source code is available here: http://home.inreach.com/2tone/tclock2/download.htm

Maybe it would be possible to incorporate some code from Tclock2 into UltraMon to make it easier.

Well thanks for listening.

Thanks for your suggestions, will be considered for UltraMon 3.

Regarding 1): UltraMon is already quite componentized, for example mirroring is a separate feature and doesn't have to be installed. Display profiles is tied to shortcuts, but if you also don't use the shortcuts feature you could remove this feature as well.

Features can be disabled during setup, or afterwards by modifying the installation. To do this, go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs, select UltraMon from the list, click on Change, select 'modify installation', then deselect the features you want to remove.

Most of the features don't use memory if they aren't used, but uninstalling the unused features will free up some disk space.
