Forums -> UltraMon™ -> Ability to specify which monitor apps open to

Unlike nView, ultramon doesn't have memory of which applications open to which monitors. Sometimes, it remember, but the dialogue boxes and pop-ups of that application still go to the primary monitor. There is also no way to specify which application goes to which monitor.

What I'm trying to do, is have Monitor 1 be my primary monitor, and run Half-life on Monitor 2.

This way, Monitor 2 will run HL, while all applications will open up to Monitor 1, since that's where I will place them.

So, the three things I would like to be added is:

- Memory of which apps open on which monitor
- Force dialogue boxes to open in the same monitor as their application
- Be able to specify a monitor for apps to open in

Thanks for the suggestions, this is something I'm considering for a future release.

You can already start applications on a specific monitor using the shortcuts feature (UltraMon menu > Shortcuts), or by right-clicking an existing shortcut, selecting Properties and adjusting the settings on the 'UltraMon - Window' tab.

If you don't use a custom shortcut, UltraMon doesn't do any application positioning. Most applications do this themselves, and also open dialogs on the monitor they're on.
