Great work on Ultramon
But could you make it support Active Desktops in the Wallpaper setting. I use very effeciently constructed active desktops and windows nor Ultramon are terribly friendly with them, any particular reason?

In any event if you could add a feature to support them would be great.

What kind of problems do you experience with the Active Desktop?

Well the 2nd monitor in WindowsXP will only display the Active Desktop background, not the active desktop content, thats fine, the primary
monitor still displays the correct active desktop content.

But I was hoping Ultramons Wallpaper option might let me to change the 2nd monitors wallpaper or even add another Active desktop to it, but alas that is not the case, I cant even use any active desktop with Ultramon, it keeps prompting me to disable it, and of course .html files aren't selectable when looking for wallpapers in the Ultramon browse box, in the wallpaper procedure of Ultramon.

Dont get me wrong Ultramons been fantastic, id feel I had wasted my time with Dual monitors without it, but Active Desktop support would be invaluable, and would it really be that difficult to implement?

Anyway just a suggestion I hope you could perhaps look into it. Look forward to the next release anyway.

This should work fine, Windows allows you to place Active Desktop items anywhere on the desktop.

To move an item, move the mouse to the edge of the item, grab the title bar that appears and move the item to the desired position.

Active Desktop doesn't need to be disabled to use UltraMon wallpapers, but it isn't required. To disable the message 'Do you want to disable Active Desktop', check the 'Do not show this message again' box at the bottom of the message dialog.

You could use UltraMon for the desktop background (a single image stretched across the desktop, or a different image on each monitor), and Active Desktop to display additional images or web pages on the desktop.

If you don't want to use UltraMon for desktop wallpapers, just select (None) as your wallpaper in the UltraMon wallpaper dialog. You can then select a wallpaper image in Display Properties, and UltraMon will no longer do any wallpaper management.
