i have a two monitor setup using a geforce4 ti4600 dual-dvi card. if i make a profile to disable my secondary display, does that give my primary display all the resources (memory, etc.) of my video card? i am wondering if this is the best way to give video intensive applications like games the full power of my video card?

With a dualhead card this might be possible, but I don't know enough about how the Nvidia card works.
If I remember correctly, the OpenGL dualmon review at ExtremeTech looked at this issue in some detail.
