Hi Christian,
I am very new to UltraMon but have been using a multiple nonitor system for a about a year now. I use my system with from 5-8 monitors. I use my system for running slide shows to display action photography at large scale sporting events. I would like to be able to begin a new slide show, move it to a specific monitor and be able to know which slide show is running on which monitor all from Monitor1. We sometime run as many as 4 slide shows on a single monitor by using the tile commands on the windows task bar.
In other words I would like to know what is running on all the other monitors in menu format or a visual format without seeing the actual monitor. I would like to do all this from Monitor1.
Is this possible?
Thanks for your help.

Using the smart taskbar you could do this. Open a new taskbar for monitor 1, then set it to "show tasks from" all the monitors you desire (this will put all tasks on one taskbar).
Or you can open a bunch of seperate smart taskbars all on monitor 1. So that each only shows tasks from a certain monitor (thus seperating which program is on which monitor).

You could try the monitor preview feature (UltraMon menu > Mirroring > Monitor Preview), problem is that it will most likely kill system performance.
Non-realtime previewing is planned for one of the next releases, this will reduce the impact on system performance.
Multiple UltraMon taskbars on monitor 1 as suggested by Doug should also work, but the only way to see to which monitor a taskbar belongs is to right-click the taskbar and take a look at the 'Show Tasks from' setting.

Thanks for your replies. I tried the Mirror preview and as you said, had very poor results with system performance. I will try the multiple task bar suggestion.
What I had in mind was a very simple menu like that found in Multidesk from silicon realms. Something like this would be simple yet powerful for someone like me. Perhaps this could be worked into a future version or as a plug-in.
For now, I am just happy to have made the advancements that are already available with your program.
Thanks

Doug,
Sorry for my ignorance, however, I can not figure out how to create additional smart task bars in the manner you described. How do create a task bar on Mon1 that will show the programs on say Mon5 and so on.
Thanks for your help and understanding.

You'll have to move the taskbars created for the other monitors to monitor 1 manually.
If the taskbars are locked, right-click each taskbar and uncheck 'Lock Taskbar'. Once the taskbar is unlocked, you'll get a drag grip in the lower right corner of the taskbar.
