Hey I have been having a slight problem running ultramon on my windows 2000 machine, first of all I am experienceing a significant speed decrease, that is probably just my perception though and am not too concerned, but the other thing is the fact that I cannot run the ultramon screen saver program or setup utility on my machine,
I was wondering if thios was a win2000 only glitch or what, because I have been running Ultramon on my winXP computer (listed in the archives on this site) and have experienced not a single problem with any function of Ultramon. If anyone else has had any problems please respond to this post, maybe there is something that we can do about them. THX

Make sure you are using the latest release (RC1), Beta 5 had performance problems (the Smart Taskbar).
UltraMon of course does have some overhead, for example the Smart Taskbar monitors window creation and movement, and the custom window buttons and menus also generate some overhead.
I haven't noticed any noticeable performance decrease on my own systems, a dual P2-400 with 384 MB RAM, and a Celeron 600 with 128 MB RAM.
You could check if either UltraMon.exe or UltraMonTaskbar.exe are using lots of CPU (Task Manager > Processes). Both processes should only use more than 0% CPU for short periods of time. If you are using another multi-monitor software such as nView or PowerDesk, you could try if disabling it makes any difference.
