sorry if this sounds a bit noobish but it seems i can`t find out the answer by myself...my problem is that i want to build up a Quad Monitor sistem using a video splitter like this one for example:
4 Port DVI Video Splitter

it says max resolution is : 1920 x 1200 but i can`t figure it out if this res is for each monitor meaning 1920 (x4) x 1200 if i put them in straight line... or if this max res its for all 4 monitors 1920 (/4) x 1200 in witch case i can`t do anything with it since the monitors are supposed to be about 23" ... this is my primary question

secondary question:

if this max resolution is 1920 x 1200 per monitor does my video card has to support a high resolution like: 1920 (x4) x 1200? or its enough only max 1920x1200?

and 3rd: can UltraMon manage this kind of configuration? because i want to do different things on each monitor...

thx very much,

Max.

This splitter will display the exact same image on all 4 monitors (that's what a video splitter does).

The rest of the questions are not relevant: I don't think a video splitter is what you are looking for.

any solution for using a 4 monitor system? except using 2 Video boards?

I believe ATI makes a single card that supports up to 6 monitors.

There are video cards with 4 outputs, but you take a hit on cost and/or performance compared to using 2 ordinary video cards. You can also use a couple USB video adapters, instead of a second video card, if you don't need high-performance 3D video.
